Virginia’s Overarching Shame Revealed: Dave Matthews #1?

According to this Time article, Dave Matthews is Virginia’s favorite musician. By that map, I need to move to Delaware, which fancies Rush, no doubt as an act of Joe Biden compensation.

In fairness to Matthews, he’s funny. Here he is impersonating Ozzy Ozbourne, while Hader impersonates him.

As an artist, though, I find Matthews an answer to the question: What if Jack Johnson had too many instruments, and was over-produced to a fair-thee-well?

Jason Mraz is endlessly listenable. Even Donavon Frankenreiter. But for some reason I just can’t take Dave Matthews.

Ditched my cable service and got rid of my TV in 2006; doesn’t look like I’m missing anything.

Aha! But is Dave Matthews his REAL name?

The Offspring are always mocking the shallow pop culture. Best band on the planet.

Pfft. I wonder if Dave has been dropping turds into rivers, as he did a few years back. Lord knows that he’s dropped enough turds onto the pop charts. Who listens to his crap?

Some of my old Virginia friends raved about him back when he was hot on the charts, and a couple of tunes weren’t bad at all. But then they “treated” me to a full concert (on DVD) and I was bored to tears. I really don’t see what the fanatics see in him.

He was pretty funny, though, in between monotonously long numbers.

About the only bands that I regularly buy their new albums any more are The Offspring, Foo Fighters, and “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Heck, I’ve only even heard of four of those bands, and I’d only bother listening to three of them (Rush, Grateful Dead, Nirvana).
