18-Year-Old Beats, Rapes 85-Year-Old Nun Who Was ‘Advocate of Nonviolence’

What a monster:

A nun who police in Beaver County said was raped and beaten so badly that her jaw was dislocated and she was unable to speak to police at the scene was expected to be released soon from the hospital.
The Sisters of St. Joseph in Baden called the 85-year-old retired nun “a passionate advocate of nonviolence, peace and justice, and each month she conducts a prayer vigil for peace in the chapel of our Motherhouse.”
Andrew Bullock, 18, of Aliquippa was arraigned Friday night on charges that he raped and beat the nun in the parking lot of St. Titus Church in Aliquippa around 11:30 a.m. Friday, according to court documents and Aliquippa police.

Because feminists are supposed to be anti-rape, I checked Amanda Marcotte’s site to see if she cared. Crickets chirping. Instead . . .

Uh, Amanda, who is attacking women? Raped nuns evidently don’t bother Amanda Marcotte, but popular Fox News hosts?

  6. I don’t know how Amanda Marcotte could handle the cognitive dissonance, were she to comment on this dreadful crime. The contradictions in her worldview would collide head on.

  7. One can only wonder what goes on in the soul of someone who does something like this. What is it about our society that we are creating ever larger numbers of sociopaths without any empathy for their fellow humans whatsoever?

  9. Marcotte doesn’t mean physical beatings when she talks about “right-wing attacks”. She means criticism. For her, a left-fascist being criticized is a crime far, far worse than an elderly nun being raped and beaten.

  11. She would applaud the attack as a brave political statement, as the nun is Roman Catholic and probably pro-life.

  13. Contradictions don’t mean the same to followers of Mandy’s ideology as they do to rational people.

    Any conflicts in her worldview are considered violence committed against her femaledom by the Oppressive Male Patriarchal Hegemony whose acronym, OMPH, represents the symbolic rape of all women by society’s failure to provide her with feminine hygiene products, or something.

  15. To be fair, Miss Marcotte is as anti-rape as they come, and places a great deal of importance on the concept of clearly communicated consent. She might not have heard of this story.

    At least the rapist was 18, legally an adult, so there are no questions about charging him as an adult. A good district attorney will pile charge upon charge, so that this cretin will spend the rest of his miserable life in prison.

    Unless, of course, his defense attorney manages to succeed with some sort of insanity defense. It’s kind of difficult to argue that Mr Bullock is sane, because what he did was just clearly insane. Nevertheless, the defense has to prove that he was clinically insane at the time of the attack.

  17. To the left, the religious component of the story far, far outweighs the fact that the victim is a women. To them, hers’ is a greater sin.

  18. Pointing out the obvious: this is probably the elderly nun’s only sexual experience.

    It is hard to comprehend the horror of being an eighty-five year old crime victim and rape victim, but even more horrific for a virgin, and particularly sickening for a woman who has made a lifelong vow of chastity.

  20. The fact is that after all the arguments and political ranting. What this man did is deplorable. If it can be proven without a doubt or by his own confession that he did it. Then he should not be allowed to live a day longer. After all it is highly unlikely that he will be rehabilitated or even remorseful of his actions. So why spend time and money on something that can be fixed in a minute with one cheap bullet. After that publicize it and I promise that will detour the next @$$hole. Period
