Unlimited benefits? Isn’t this what they voted for last November?

Shelves at Walmart stores in Louisiana were cleared in a shopping frenzy over the weekend after a glitch in the Electronic Benefits Transfer system allowed government food stamp recipients to make purchases without spending limits.
For two hours Saturday night, customers rang up overflowing cartloads of food at stores in Springhill and Mansfield, La., after cashiers allowed them to use their EBT cards anyway despite not showing limits, KSLA-TV reported.
“It was worse than any Black Friday,” Springhill police Chief Will Lynd told KSLA. . . .
After the system came back online, customers abandoned their carts and left the store, leaving a huge mess behind.
“It was like a tornado had came through,” O.J Evans, who took cell phone video of the aftermath at the Mansfield Walmart, told KSLA.

Bad news for the folks who pulled that, the cards are trackable and so are their “purchases”. In my state at least, if you somehow spend more than your limit, they can take it out of your future “awards”. That’s going to leave a mark…

Edwin Edwards has his own TV show now to help rehabilitate him. His friends are working to get him pardoned so he can be elected governor again. No one knows where all of the money went, but his friends want more.
Looting is a sport in Louisiana.

I’m reminded of the bit from The Matrix where Agent Smith concludes that the best animal analogy to the human race is locusts, because they consume every resource then move on. Most of us aren’t like that, but these types certainly seem to be.

The SNAP system is run by the states and the banks so depending on the state they might care particularly as congress reduced the funding.

This dependency and greed is addictive, and as the democrats encourage it, and some even lionize it, they know what they are creating. The ransacked store is a metaphor for what’s coming for this country if we do not somehow reassert a culture of pride and moral responsibility.

That’s the sane reaction. I am concerned that someone will cry that it’s unfair to let this theft result in hungry babies. It’s not their fault anyway (joke).

While a certain sentiment can be shared, I’m afraid I’d have to say no, because my wife works at a walmart and we pay our damn bills and live welfare free, and bombing my wife is not a damn option.

I came across an article that said Walmart is stuck with the charges. Corporate was insane to tell store management to take the cards regardless.

I came across a commenter on another site that told me that given the number of jobs that have been destroyed by Walmart it was understandable that people would run riot and that they were taking things like Milk and cereal. I’ve run across a number of so called Evangelical Leftists that clearly have no moral compass such as that given by Christ. Theft is theft, and that man was winking at theft.

If the rich man’s money and property are not safe, no one’s is.
